October 18, 2006 - 4:00 PM Myrtle Grove secured its 3rd straight Middle School championship by defeating Trask 10-0. Over the past few years, the MGMS-Trask games have been key in determining the season champion. This game was no different, with both teams showing lots of intensity and desire to win the game.
On the defensive front, Courtney, Drew and Carly made plays worthy of "webgem" status in the field, keeping Trask at bay and off the bases.
At bat, Allison D, Michel, Morgan, and Amanda all had big doubles. Amanda went 3-3, Morgan and Michel went 2-3, and Drew hit .500 to lead the team in hitting. Every player that got to the plate either got a hit or got on base by a walk. The Lady Gators were "ON" this game, and showed how good they can play together, as a team when they really want to win.
